The West Coast Business Chamber (WCBC) toasted a successful year, and looked back on some of its highlights at its annual general meeting (AGM) and Golf Day fundraiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was held at Langebaan Country Estate (LCE) on Thursday 21 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shanah Damonse, chair of the WCBC, gave an overview of the chamber\u2019s achievements and detailed their future plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said: \u201cIt\u2019s been a very busy year filled with change and lots of new things for the chamber which has ensured immense growth. We\u2019ve gone through radical changes trying to bring more value to our members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Damonse also mentioned the chamber started building long lasting relationships with Saldanha Bay Municipality (SBM), the Saldanha Bay Tourism Organisation (SBTO) as well as other business chambers and forums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe chamber through its new initiatives like getting involved with community and sport,\u201d she said. \u201cWe hosted our first youth careers day in conjunction with Vredenburg High School, which we hope to make an annual event. In collaboration with the SBTO and Boland Rugby we also hosted our very first Currie Cup game in Saldanha.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WCBC also launched Chamber Air at the Saldanha airstrip last month to help cut time in traffic and attract more business and investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She adds that they\u2019d like to achieve more benefits for West Coast businesses and get involved in more community initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
