NSFAS is a public entity reporting to the Department of Higher Education and Training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSFAS provides financial assistance in the form of a study bursary to qualifying students who wish to study or are already studying at TVET colleges and public universities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n What does the NSFAS bursary cover?<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applicants who are approved for NSFAS funding are covered for the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Registration<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuition?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allowances for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Food<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accommodation or transport<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Who qualifies for the bursary?<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You qualify for a NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen who plans to study in 2021 or you are already studying at a public university or TVET college and you meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SASSA grant recipients or your combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year, or you are a person with a disability with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year, or a student who began their university studies before 2018 and their household income is not more than R122 000 per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n What is required during the application process?<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
?NSFAS may need more information from you to process your application, check what supporting documents are required and ensure that you have all the relevant information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You will need the following to complete your NSFAS application: .<\/span> Your own cellphone number and email address.<\/span> Copy of your ID or birth certificate.<\/span> ID copies of parents, guardian or spouse.<\/span> Your proof of income or 1 year\u2019s IRP5 (if applicable).<\/span> Your parents, guardian or spouse\u2019s proof of income .<\/span> If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An applicant who is recognised as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Applications can be submitted through the online myNSFAS portal, and new applicants need a copy of their ID document or birth certificate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The closing date for prospective applicants is 30 November this year, and students are urged to apply as
