This strike<br>\ncomes after workers across the board have not been happy about their wages.<br>\nEmployees of DSP joined the strike and says employers are not doing enough to<br>\nmeet their demands and needs. Several DSP employees gathered outside the<br>\nbuilding saying they would not return to work unless their needs are met.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><strong>Numsa demanded an 8% increase<br>\nacross broad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-ZA\" style=\"color:#201F1E;mso-ansi-language:EN-ZA;\">The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation<br>\nof Southern Africa (Seifsa) hosted a media briefing on Friday 15 October to<br>\ndiscuss this matter and laid their 6% offer on the table. Employees were<br>\nhowever still unhappy about this offer.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-ZA\" style=\"color:#201F1E;mso-ansi-language:EN-ZA;\">With water, food and electricity prices on the<br>\nrise, employees are concerned about how they will get by and take care of their<br>\nfamilies.&nbsp;During the briefing, Seifsa\u2019s<br>\nCEO Lucio Trentini said a three-year deal has been placed on the table. \u201cThis<br>\nis our closing and final offer. We believe the offer is fair in the context of<br>\nthe industry and the economy,\u201d Trentini said. He also highlighted that the<br>\nindustry has suffered a lot during this strike and that it needs to come to an<br>\nend.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-ZA\" style=\"color:#201F1E;mso-ansi-language:EN-ZA;\">Employees at DSP says profit margins were<br>\nenormous and that they even operated during lockdown.&nbsp; A worker who does<br>\nnot want to be identified, said they (DSP) do not put their workers first and<br>\nthey have not even received a thank you for all their hard work.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span lang=\"EN-ZA\" style=\"color:#201F1E;mso-ansi-language:EN-ZA;\">Employees are still demanding the 8% increase.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span
