{"id":59296,"date":"2022-02-14T06:02:59","date_gmt":"2022-02-14T04:02:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/shoprite-2022-23-bursaries-are-now-up-for-grabs-20220209-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T00:33:28","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T22:33:28","slug":"shoprite-2022-23-bursaries-are-now-up-for-grabs-20220209-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/shoprite-2022-23-bursaries-are-now-up-for-grabs-20220209-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Shoprite 2022-\u201923 bursaries are now up for grabs!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Applications for the Shoprite Group\u2019s bursary programme are now open for the 2022 and 2023 academic years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These bursaries offer students in the fields of accounting, food sciences and information technology an opportunity to further their studies \u2014 and then go on to work for Africa\u2019s largest retailer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group\u2019s employees are at the forefront of one of the continent\u2019s most technologically advanced retail organisations, which pioneered various initiatives in the past year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This environment of rapid innovation is particularly well suited to IT students, who thrive in an environment where complex problem solving is the norm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shoprite was the first South African retailer to receive accreditation as a trainer with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, and accounting clerks will join a small, hands-on articles programme. Students can expect to receive individual attention, have a say in their rotation plan and exposure to many different fields, including buying, logistics, or IT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Article clerks have the option to complete up to three electives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students studying food sciences have an opportunity to work with the Shoprite and Checkers supermarket teams on fresh foods, product development and fresh produce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for IT, Accounting and Food Sciences bursaries are open from 1 February to 30 April 2022. Retail Business Management, Pharmacy and Supply Chain bursary applications will open in July 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registered university students with a 65% aggregate or higher are encouraged to apply
