{"id":46893,"date":"2024-05-07T11:33:28","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T09:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/plan-for-wcnp-for-the-next-10-years-workshopped-20240501\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T16:56:19","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T14:56:19","slug":"plan-for-wcnp-for-the-next-10-years-workshopped-20240501","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/plan-for-wcnp-for-the-next-10-years-workshopped-20240501\/","title":{"rendered":"Plan for WCNP for the next 10 years workshopped"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Every 10 years the West Coast National Park (WCNP) reviews its park management plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the review process, a one-day workshop was held with key stakeholders from Langebaan and the Saldana Bay community together with SANParks staff, which allowed participants the opportunity to provide input and comment on the desired state (strategic direction) of WCNP and assisted in identifying the important management issues that should be addressed in the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to JP Louw South African National Parks (SANParks) head of communications, the park management plan is a critical document that provides guidance to park management regarding the development and management of the park in its current and envisaged future form. \u201cIt contains information on the background, biophysical context, desired state, zonation and programmes at strategic and operational levels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Louw added that review of the park management plan is a great milestone for the WCNP, which promotes cohesion between the park and its broader community. \u201cStakeholders will be involved throughout the process to ensure that their concerns and aspirations are consistently understood and considered. The draft park management plan will be provided by February 2025 and will include public input in the management plan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about West Coast National Park, please
