On 28 September 2024, the much-anticipated National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer will take place at 17 malls in the Western Cape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This event has taken place since 2012 to raise funds for Cupcakes of Hope (CoH), an NPC and PBO that provides assistance and support to the families and children who have been diagnosed with cancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have assisted more than 10 000 patients over the past 10 years,\u201d said Sandy Cipriano, founder of CoH. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy husband and I started to raise funds for children with cancer when a friend lost her 3-year-old to the disease. In 2012 we registered the non-profit Cupcakes of Hope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince then, via the community-driven National Cupcake Days, more than R10 million has been raised to provide for hundreds of young cancer patients and their families every month. This includes covering their medical bills and other essentials, from nappies to nutrition. The youngest was 4 months old when diagnosed.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2020 the number of patients supported has quadrupled. Between January and July this year 1 608 financial requests have been received, 334 of them for patients in the Western Cape. CoH currently averages around 220 requests for financial assistance per month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weskus Mall in Vredenburg is one of the participating malls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We value our community, and through this event we are able to give back, it is also an opportunity for our amazing customers to give back to those in need \u2013 be it by donating baked cupcakes or by purchasing a cupcake on the day. This is a wonderful event that Weskus Mall is proud to be a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Registration to bake and participate in National Cupcake Day 4 Children with Cancer, is now open. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
