Why the word choice \u201chouse\u201d and not home? Because a home is where you feel safest, most protected, loved, comfortable, and at peace, far more than just a house you live in. The love and care Joshlin received as a toddler in the years leading up to her disappearance in February 2024 is not something we can speculate about. However, the descriptions of how she went missing reveal everything but a happy and carefree childhood where love and protection reigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To date, the general public has been clinging to false leads in the hope they would lead to her discovery in due course. With the trial of the three accused suspected in connection with her disappearance, including her mother Kelly Smith, set to start early in March, the state, more formally known as the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), has kept its cards close to its chest. The trial, for which approval to be held in Saldanha has since been granted, will be the first indication of how strong the case against the accused is, or whether it is mostly circumstantial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state will also most likely indicate the number of witnesses it is expected to call.
