The school choir of Weskus Skool in Saldanha took part in the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod 2025 (SASCE). Winning the trophy at district level for special schools in the high-school category was an achievement, qualifying them to participate at provincial level on Thursday 5 June. Although coming second, they did not qualify for the nationals. It was still a huge achievement for them as a choir that started from scratch at the beginning of the year. The school is proud of every member of its choir.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the spirit of giving back the Saldanha Sea Border Unit visited Captain Peg Leg Day Care Centre recently and handed much-needed items over \u2013 three beds, two overalls and toys. Lieutenant-Colonel Craig Diedericks, along with Warrant Officer Mario van Rooy, Sergeant Marilize Swartbooi, Constable Lezarick Boumeester and Willa Williams handed these over, an initiative that was warmly welcomed by Mercia Vlok, the centre’s principal.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Winning the trophy at district level for special schools in the high-school category was an achievement, qualifying them to participate at provincial level on Thursday 5 June. Although coming second, they did not qualify for the nationals. It was still a huge achievement for them as a choir that started from scratch at the beginning of the year.
