Rain and wind could not stop the second Hopefield Curry Festival presented by the Hopefield Co-op and held on Saturday 7 June.\r<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making their way from far and wide people travelled along the West Coast to enjoy the delicious curries. \r<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a wide variety of food for all including chicken livers, chu chu and livers, samoosas, meatballs, kerrie vetkoek and so much more. \r<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisers Marlene Olivier and Gabrielle Andrew said they had full participation from the local community, who set up stalls, cooked beautiful curries and worked happily together and everyone worked as a team.\r<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olivier and Andrew are committed to collaboration and building Hopefield’s capacity by showcasing the towns abundant resources and skills. \r<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They added that the Curry Festival is an annual winter event which guests can look forward to once again next year. Vendors could not stop talking about how fantastic the day went amidst the weather, and many made incredible sales. In December, the Hopefield Co-op also hosts a Light Festival where the main road is closed, a long table set out and everyone gathers to enjoy the evening together. \r<\/p>\n\n\n\n
