{"id":263447,"date":"2025-06-08T16:12:37","date_gmt":"2025-06-08T14:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/?p=263447"},"modified":"2025-06-08T16:12:39","modified_gmt":"2025-06-08T14:12:39","slug":"have-your-say-at-your-local-cpf-meeting-this-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/weslander\/have-your-say-at-your-local-cpf-meeting-this-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Have your say at your local CPF meeting this month"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Residents of towns on the West Coast who want to have a say on how crime should be dealt with in their town are welcome to attend the respective community policing forums&#8217; (CPF) annual meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This also applies to churches, sports organisations, businesses, community members, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Come make a difference and help discuss matters, such as the selection of a new management, crime fighting, and other important issues about crime that affect the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CPF creates an important platform for role-players to ensure that the community&#8217;s needs are tackled. The South African Constitution provides for forums to bring community organisations and the police together in partnership to find solutions to safety and security issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CPF also promotes cooperation between the parties to protect the community from crime and thus create a safe environment.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A second function of the CPF is to check and promote the local police&#8217;s efficiency, accountability, and transparency as a civilian body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The respective CPF annual meetings take place as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hopefield: Monday 9 June at 19:00 in the Hopefield Thusong Centre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Langebaan: Wednesday 11 June at Seebries Hall at 18:00.
