The City of Cape Town is throwing open the doors to the Atlantis Multi-purpose Centre (MPC) to keep children occupied during their winter break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt can be a challenge to keep the young ones busy for a few weeks during the school holidays, especially during winter when it\u2019s cold and they can\u2019t get outside to play,\u201d said the City\u2019s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security; and Social Services, Alderman JP Smith. \u201cThe facility offers winter programmes that ensure there is something for everyone, from younger children to teenagers. No one has to be bored this winter school holiday.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A diverse range of both indoor and outdoor activities are on offer at the MPC \u2014 from board games and sport, to dancing and face-painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe list of activities to keep young minds busy is exhaustive,\u201d Smith said. \u201cI want to encourage parents to send their children to these programmes to not only keep them safe and busy, but also give them the opportunity to socialise and learn. They can have some good old-fashioned fun in a safe and inclusive space. Holidays can also be expensive and all of the programmes are free of charge.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme will run daily from Monday to Friday (26 June-16 July), 10:00-14:00, and is open to all ages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
