The Rotary Club of Atlantis received a major boost after finalising a contract worth almost R130 000 with the German Embassy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The money will be used specifically for a feeding scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the club\u2019s official launch in February, the latest addition to Rotary International, it has made a major contribution to the lives of Atlantis residents. With the Covid-19 pandemic the club provided many residents with food and other essential household products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During lockdown level 5 and 4 Rotary Atlantis partnered with the Philadelphia Farmers\u2019 Association and provided basic education on Radio Atlantis to help learners keep up with their schoolwork. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rotary Atlantis\u2019 first major nutrition project was in partnership with the Buddhist relief body Tzu-Chi Foundation SA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Danny Pietersen, Rotary president, the new funds will be used for various projects in the community \u2013 schools, soup kitchens, the disabled and health institutions that will benefit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
