This unprecedented health crisis has required innovative approaches and creative thinking to operate in the \u201cnew normal\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atlantis teachers rose to the challenge and leveraged their learning from last year\u2019s training by EduNova. Last year 14 local educators participated in the training programme made possible through the Atlantis Special Economic Zone (ASEZ). The training was in line with the ASEZ\u2019s commitment to supporting skills development in the local community. \u201cAt the height of the pandemic these educators benefited from ongoing support to their community of practitioners, which enabled them to negotiate the crisis and support their learners with digital content and online teaching,\u201d the ASEZ said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This development has since led to EduNova starting two programmes at Atlantis primary and high schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The IT Enabler programme (http:\/\/www.edunova.org\/ite-programme\/) will see 30 local youth trained and placed at the schools for a year, specifically to support the schools with their computer labs and IT capacity for teachers and learners. This programme is supported by YES (the Youth Employment Service), providing beneficiaries with a stipend for their year placement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further training focusing on building community capacity through engagement and project management will be implemented, crucial skills for the construction phase of the ASEZ project. Developing technical skills to support the manufacturing environment, in turn ensuring investors will be met with suitably skilled, local capacity fulfilling their demand, will also be offered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
