The vaccination sites will continue to prioritise booked clients, who have received their appointment SMS but, where possible, also accommodate walk-in clients who have not yet received this SMS said Department of Health spokesperson Natalie Watlington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Dr Keith Cloete, head of the Western Cape Health Department, the province is on the threshold of a third wave of Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe cannot guarantee that all walk-ins will be accommodated on a specific day, as this is dependent on vaccine availability, hence our call to citizens please to register on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS),\u201d Watlington said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a major operation, and the department of health would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Health workers are working round the clock to ensure a positive and dignified experience she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe would also appreciate your support by waiting for your second SMS, as it will enable our sites to operate more efficiently,\u201d said Watlington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These SMSes will come in greater numbers as all these sites come online Watlington said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To confirm one is registered on the EVDS or to update details, simply go to https:\/\/vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za\/#\/, type in details and follow the steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For any questions on phase 2 registration of vaccination, contact the Provincial Call Centre on 0860 142 142. \u201cWe also encourage everyone who is 60 or older please to register for your vaccine,\u201d Watlington said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
