Alderman Grant Twigg, Mayco Member for Urban Management said through this project communities from Factreton and Atlantis can benefit through its 50 ambassadors, in each of these communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peace ambassadors are a peace multiplier model designed by Professor Brian Williams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It provides participants with knowledge of peace as a transformative power within a context of the three types of violence and the need for sustainable development, Twigg explains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme is designed to provide everyone with an understanding of the seven paths to inner peace which are. .<\/span> Human rights: Constitution preamble, Bill of Rights.<\/span> Context and Cape Flats reality of violence.<\/span> Peace concepts: peace, peace making, peace keeping and peace building. Six paths to Inner Peace. Negative and Positive Peace.<\/span> Violence: violence, direct violence, cultural violence and structural violence.<\/span> Poetry and peace: creative and critical thinking.<\/span> Local case studies.<\/span> Field research concepts for the peace project implementation <\/p>\n\n\n\n Twigg added that each participant is introduced to strategic peace concepts which are linked to the implementation of peace projects and said this programme is unique in its design, which activates the creation of a culture of peace as a counter narrative to violence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After successfully completing the two-day training programme participants will receive an accredited certificate from a university abroad at a ceremonial handover on Youth Day, 16
