The Atlantis Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) has a new CEO with Dr Pierre Voges officially taking over the reins and assuming responsibilities from 1 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ASEZ was recently approved by National Treasury as an officially listed government business enterprise, and is a key component of the Western Cape Government Economic Recovery Plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This development bodes very well for its role as a manufacturing value chain contributor in the renewable energy sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement the ASEZ said Voges had built extensive experience in national, provincial and local government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The effective combination of an academic with a practical approach stands him in great stead to take on the new role, the team believes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Voges is also Head of the Western Cape Strategic Economic Development Infrastructure Company (Sedic), a catalytic infrastructure entity in the process of being established by the Western Cape Government as well as the former Chief Executive Officer of the Mandela Bay Development Agency, responsible for urban renewal through infrastructure projects in Port Elizabeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This experience and dedication, among other things, deem Voges as an excellent candidate in this new role the ASEZ said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Western Cape Minister for Finance and Economic Opportunities David Maynier added: \u201cI heartily congratulate Dr Voges on his appointment as the CEO of The Atlantis Special Economic Zone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Atlantis Special Economic Zone has great potential to attract investment that could lead to skills training and future job creation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Says Voges: \u201cI believe any SEZ is all about putting government Policy into Practice. The Atlantis SEZ is a Greentech SEZ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
