The City of Cape Town\u2019s Community Services and Health Directorate will spend just more than R244 million this financial year on capital projects, which will see upgrades to a range of facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe City\u2019s Community Services and Health Directorate contributes to the health and well-being of communities and individuals through the provision of community and health facilities, spaces and services,\u201d said Councillor Patricia van der Ross, the City\u2019s Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe money we will spend is an investment not only into a myriad facilities, but also the lives of our residents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBy providing places and spaces where residents can be healthy and socialise, we are investing in our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the directorate\u2019s departments the broad social challenges and needs are addressed by providing and maintaining a holistic and integrated range of developmental programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe ability to deliver services is resource dependent and the directorate continues to assess and prioritise resources and capacity against needs,\u201d Van der Ross said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis includes assessing the delivery of services with limited resources and increasing vandalism. The City is doing its part in providing facilities, but I encourage residents to do their part and not only take ownership of these assets, but also prevent it from becoming vandalised.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the projects included in the R244 532 712 capital expenditure include the hardening and securing of facilities and a number of upgrades to clinics, multi-purpose centres, libraries and parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salberau<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n .<\/span> Upgrade to Bishop Lavis sports ground <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n .<\/span> Mandela Park integrated recreational facility <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n .<\/span> Clinic upgrades
