The Mayoral Urban Regeneration Programme (MURP) Area North division, in collaboration with Subcouncil 1 and the Department of Community Safety, honoured 41 neighbourhood-watch (NHW) members of Atlantis who attended capacity building over three days on Thursday 8 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Project manager Samora Mamba said the neighbourhood watch members had requested this training, which covered the learning areas such as Conflict Resolution and Management, Victim Empowerment Support and Business Planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the objective is to empower at least 60 community members in these areas, the result of evaluating, learning and understanding the training and capacity-building needs and priorities of safety and service-delivery community ambassadors, who would also receive a stipend for their full attendance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mamba said it is understood such an incentive would ensure the success of such a project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
