Terwyl baie nog wag vir hul Kersfeesvleis en lekkernye, is die \u201champer lady\u201d, soos sy bekend staan, reeds besig om nuwe kli\u00ebnte te werf vir haar Paasfees-, skryfbehoeftes- en ander hampers vir die jaar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slagoffers van die hamper lady is woedend oor die dro\u00eb Kersfees weens le\u00eb beloftes van haar, en baie het duisende rande verloor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Sarah Salie (60) het sy elke maand haar pensioengeld geneem en net meer as R2 000 per maand betaal vir haar verskillende hampers. \u201cEk het meer as R22 000 vir die jaar betaal en elke keer as ek navrae doen oor my goed, word ek beledig,\u201d vertel Ouma Salie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sy s\u00ea: \u201cOns is beledig as die betaling laat is en moet dan \u2019n boete betaal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Salie se buurvrou, wat R4 000 betaal het, het sy absoluut niks gekry nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beloftes van kwaliteit produkte was ook alles net s\u00eagoed en van die produkte wat wel afgelewer is, was egter \u201cno name\u201d-produkte, vertel hulle.
Volgens \u2019n polisiebeampte van Paarl, wat ook \u2019n slagoffer van die \u201champer lady\u201d is, is sy meegedeel dat die hamper lady se bankrekening gevries was en dat die hampers daarom nie afgelewer kon word nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDit was verskoning op verskoning,\u201d vertel die polisiebeampte, en s\u00ea haar hamper was meer as R4 000, maar sy het net \u2019n bietjie meer as R1 000 se waarde gekry.
Salie vertel dat wat haar die meeste omkrap, is dat sy as pensionaris ook \u2019n sopkombuis uit haar eie sak bedryf, en gedink het dat die hamper ook \u2019n glimlag op ander se gesigte kon sit, omdat sy minderbevoorregtes met \u2019n Kersmaaltyd wou bederf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
