Die tien gedigte in die bundel weerspie\u00ebl die ervaringe en gedagtes van Swan, die digter, wat met die kroniese siektetoestand rumato\u00efede artritis leef.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Die hoofdoel is om bewusmaking te kweek sodat insig en begrip vir mense wat met kroniese toestande worstel, sal verdiep en verbreed. Natuurlik wil ons ook hoop bring vir diegene wat daagliks met kroniese siektes worstel,&#8221; s\u00ea Van der Merwe.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die digbundel bied &#8216;n venster om na binne en na buite te kyk. &#8216;n Uitdagende reis na menswees in al die fasette daarvan: liggaamlik, psigies, emosioneel, geestelik en sosiaal, binne die konteks van iemand wat met kroniese siekte leef. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van der Merwe reken almal het &#8216;n familielid, vriend of selfs &#8216;n kollega wat met die een of ander soort kroniese pyn worstel, en hierdie bundel bied juis &#8216;n geleentheid om die daaglikse stryd beter te verstaan en dit sinvoller te bestuur om steeds &#8216;n lewe met sin en betekenis te kan leef.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Theo Kleynhans (62), \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>navorsingsbestuurder van Kroniese Kronieke, en Van der Merwe doen onafhanklike navorsing oor selfbestuur ten opsigte van kroniese siekte, met die fokus op selfsorg, lewensgehalte en betekenis, waaruit Lamentoso as eerste publikasie uitgegee is. Met Swan as navorsingsdeelgenoot is die idee van die digbundel gebore om werklik met verantwoordbaarheid oor die onderwerp te kan praat en skryf. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lesers kan hulle verdiep in die reis waar meervoudige sintuiglike interpretasies die boodskap van die digbundel versterk.
