Herotel, the largest fixed wireless internet service provider in South Africa, rolled out a community skills development programme for unemployed residents of Moakeng, Kroonstad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidates were invited to apply for enrolment in accredited programmes aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial, customer care, sales and marketing skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Herotel team has spent quality time at the Kroonstad Public Library of the Moqhaka Municipality, as well as in and around the Kroonstad community, to promote unemployed community training programmes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Herotel felt honored to have the opportunity to develop and connect the Moakeng community through fibre optics, as well as to uplift the community with accredited training and skills development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through inspirational and practical training sessions, learners were introduced to a world of possibilities, business concepts, and skills that orientated them toward innovative business ideas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The skills development programme was combined with field marketing training to support fibre optic sales in the local community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This approach brought together the ability to employ and upskill the unemployed, reflecting Herotel\u2019s values of community heart and learning minds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 55 learners who are enrolled in the Herotel Entrepreneurship Programme have shown great potential in playing an important role in their community, as well as within the larger South African economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Herotel is excited to see how these entrepreneurs will apply what they have learned in their communities and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not only does Herotel connect people through wireless and fibre optic internet services, the forming of deep connections between people is also facilitated as they collectively learn, envision, and imagine new possibilities and enterprises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
