\n VrystaatKroon<\/i>
\n <\/span>is op verskeie geleenthede deur erg bekommerde gemeenskapslede gekontak oor weeklikse vrektes onder di\u00e9 diere. <\/p>\n\n\n\nDaar word vermoed dat oorbewyding en \u2019n tekort aan voedsame kos en water die oorsaak hiervan kan wees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In antwoord op \u2019n navraag aan die DBV in Kroonstad het die organisasie bevestig dat hy kennis van die situasie dra en dat \u2019n saak reeds op 11 Augustus geopen is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Intussen is die saak vir verdere ondersoek na die raad van die Nasionale Diere\u00adbeskermingsvereniging (NDBV) verwys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Bryce Marock, \u2019n veeartsenykundige konsultant in di\u00e9 raad, s\u00ea met die NDBV se voorlopige ondersoek is bevind dat van die diere gevrek het weens strawwe rookinaseming nadat verwoestende veldbrande in die omgewing gewoed het. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHoewel geen sigbare brandwonde aan die dooie diere was nie, is gevind dat die voortdurende inaseming van rook die dood van die diere kon veroorsaak het.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die ondersoek het ook bevind dat daar wel water vir die diere beskikbaar is en dat die SANW weens die swak veldgehalte bykomende voer en soutlek verskaf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOns moniteer die situasie noukeurig en het op 1 September weer inspeksie gedoen. Ons kan byvoeg dat die SANW sy volle samewerking gee.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
