{"id":296167,"date":"2026-03-13T15:32:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T13:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/vrystaatkroon\/?p=296167"},"modified":"2026-03-13T15:32:43","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T13:32:43","slug":"advanced-fire-truck-to-boost-moqhaka-emergency-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/vrystaatkroon\/advanced-fire-truck-to-boost-moqhaka-emergency-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced fire truck to boost Moqhaka emergency services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Energy and chemicals company Sasol has donated a technologically advanced fire truck to the Fezile Dabi District Municipality to support emergency services in the Moqhaka Local Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fully equipped, state-of-the-art vehicle was officially handed over on Friday 13 March in Kroonstad, where it will be used by the Moqhaka Fire Brigade to improve response to fires and other emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moqhaka municipality Executive Mayor Motloheloa Mokatsane welcomed the donation, describing it as timely and crucial for the region&#8217;s emergency services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are grateful for this generous donation from Sasol. It has come at a critical time for our municipality.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to statistics, Moqhaka Fire Brigade responds to as many as 40 incidents a month during winter, many of which involve rapidly spreading veld fires. slide-ladder gantry and a hyper sight thermal imaging camera to assist firefighters during emergency operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firefighters from the Moqhaka municipality will also receive specialised training to operate the truck&#8217;s advanced systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive Mayor of the Fezile Dabi District Municipality, Dennis Khasudi, said the district&#8217;s fire brigade carries a significant responsibility in protecting residents and their property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is a privilege for the district to receive this support from Sasol, which will help ensure the well-being and safety of our communities,&#8221; says Khasudi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gcabashe added that the initiative demonstrates the value of partnerships between the private and public sectors.
