{"id":267274,"date":"2025-10-01T12:47:34","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T10:47:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/vrystaatkroon\/?p=267274"},"modified":"2025-10-01T12:47:37","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T10:47:37","slug":"rehabilitasie-van-grenspad-ondersoek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/vrystaatkroon\/rehabilitasie-van-grenspad-ondersoek\/","title":{"rendered":"Rehabilitasie van grenspad ondersoek"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Vrystaat Landbou (VL) het \u2018n vergadering met grensboere in die Wepener en Boesmanskop\/Zastron-gebied bygewoon waar die rehabilitasie van die grenspad tussen Suid-Afrika en Lesotho bespreek is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Op Maandag 29 September het boere tydens die vergadering eenparig beswaar teen \u2019n rybare grenspad gemaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Francois Wilken, president van VL, s\u00ea boere vra al dekades lank dat die grenspad herstel moet word op \u2019n manier wat die veiligheid van boere en plaasgemeenskappe sal verseker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens VL is die realiteit dat nie die provinsiale of nasionale regerings die versoek prioritiseer nie. Hulle s\u00ea die ministers van landbou, binnelandse sake en openbare werke en infrastruktuur het drie keer besoeke aan die grens uitgestel, ondanks dringende veiligheidskwessies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boere is van mening dat \u2019n rybare grenspad vir die volgende redes gevaarlik is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kriminele groeperings uit Lesotho wat baie tyd op hande het en al herhaaldelik heinings en paaie afgebreek of met klippe versper het.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Weermag (SANW) weier om die klippe te verwyder en daarom twyfel boere of \u2019n pad die patrolering deur die weermag die probleem sal oplos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2019n Rybare grenspad kan sindikate en misdaadgroepe in staat stel om vinniger en meer gereeld gesteelde vee en ander eiendom oor die grens te vervoer. Dit verhoog risiko\u2019s en plaas die veiligheid van boere en landelike gemeenskappe in nog groter gevaar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilken noem verder dat boere eerder versoek dat die bestaande toegangsroetes na die grens beter in stand gehou word vir noodgevalle, en dat moderne tegnologie beskikbaar gestel word om hulle \u2019n voorsprong teen misdadigers te gee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2019n Betroubare selfoonsein is hiervoor noodsaaklik. VL het bevestig dat hulle n\u00e1 talle skrywes \u2019n vergadering met die minister van kommunikasie verkry het om die ICASA-re\u00ebling te bespreek wat tans verhoed dat selfoonmaatskappye sein oor die grens kan uitstraal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hierdie beperking veroorsaak dat daar op baie plekke langs die landsgrense geen selfoonsein is nie. VL ondersteun hierdie versoek en sal dit aktief saam met relevante rolspelers help bevorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOns boere se veiligheid kan nie langer ge\u00efgnoreer word nie.
