The police’s Women’s Network took the initiative to commemorate Women’s World Day of Prayer in a powerful and inspiring event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the leadership of its chairperson, Col Senobia Solomon, Virginia police station commander, the event, was held at the URC Church in Bronville.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The celebration was centered around the theme “I Made You Wonderful,” with a special focus on the Cook Islands in New Zealand. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women from various Lejweleputswa District police stations attended in large numbers, alongside representatives of the Traffic Department and Department of Home Affairs, who also showed their support.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme began with a warm welcome by Capt.Nthabiseng Tseuoa, while the proceedings were directed by Dikeledi Mojanaga of the Bronville police station.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nIn her address, Solomon emphasised the purpose of the gathering: To pray for women who are victims of abuse, domestic violence and rape, and to foster strong relationships between the police and the community.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

She encouraged women to support and uplift one another through prayer.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A worship service was conducted and a moment of silence was observed in remembrance of women who lost their lives due to abuse.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sgt Sharon Mokoena of the police in Welkom, delivered a powerful motivational message on gender-based violence (GBV). \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mokoena highlighted that GBV is a global pandemic that knows no borders or cultural boundaries, and it continues to affect women and children worldwide.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
