Councillor Estelle Dansey, ward councillor 35 councillor, says she has submitted formal questions regarding in Reahola, ensuring that the municipality is held accountable for its inaction.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Residents of the Reahola Housing Complex in Welkom endure severe service delivery failures due to the \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matjhabeng Local Municipality’s ongoing neglect.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite multiple follow-ups since late 2024, the MMC of the Human Settlements Department has failed to respond to Councillor Estelle Dansey’s requests for clarity.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, residents on the first floor have struggled with inadequate water pressure for six months. Despite assessments and assurances, no corrective action has been taken.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The complex’s infrastructure continues to deteriorate, with overgrown grass, sewage spills, and crumbling roads posing daily risks to residents,” says Dansey.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dansey has consistently reported these issues, yet the municipality has failed to act, depriving residents of their basic rights and essential services.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Neglecting these responsibilities directly affects the health, safety, and dignity of Reahola residents, leaving them in worsening living conditions.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The DA will not allow this community to be ignored. We will keep fighting for Reahola residents until service delivery is restored.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We urge the Matjhabeng Local Municipality to act immediately and resolve these ongoing failures. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
