Die munisipaliteit is sedert 2014 in \u2019n geskil met Eskom betrokke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die munisipaliteit het tevergeefs probeer om belangrike inligting oor Eskom se eise van Matjhabeng se agterstallige rekening te bekom.\u201cEskom se gebrek aan reaksie in hierdie verband belemmer die voortsetting van di\u00e9 saak in die hooggeregshof,\u201d s\u00ea Bertus Maritz, senior regsgenoot van Bokwa Incorporated, die munisipale prokureurs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maritz s\u00ea Eskom ontduik hulle in di\u00e9 verband.In die pleit van die munisipaliteit wat reeds op 2 Julie in die hooggeregshof in Bloemfontein ingedien is, staan dat Eskom se betoog dat die munisipaliteit nog nooit betalings gedoen het nie en hom geld skuld, verkeerd is en die munisipaliteit betwis dit heftig.Sedert Julie 2014 het die munisipaliteit al R957 500 826,08 aan Eskom betaal.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"Blockquote\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_1667b7e5\">\n<div munisipaliteit weer \u2019n vergadering om die kwessies op die tafel dringend te hanteer.As Eskom nie tot \u2019n vergadering instem nie, sal die munisipaliteit gedwing word om verliese te verhaal weens die kragverskaffer se regstreekse lewering van elektrisiteit aan verbruikers soos myne, boere en gebiede binne die munisipale jurisdiksie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matjhabeng se geskatte verlies aan inkomste weens Eskom se regstreekse lewering van elektrisiteit aan hierdie entiteite word op R3,65 miljard, sonder rente, geraam.In die brief wat Maandag uitgereik is, s\u00ea Matjhabeng Eskom se volgehoue inmenging in sy grondwetlike reg om elektrisiteit regstreeks aan kli\u00ebnte wat onder die regsgebied van die munisipaliteit val te lewer, het daartoe gelei dat Matjhabeng werklike verliese
