The Goudveld Multisport Club, together with AECI Mining, presented the 43rd Mielie Marathon in Welkom on 26 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As this race is a fast and flat route, athletes around the country believe it to be one of the best qualifying marathons for the Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having skipped two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this race over 42 km is again considered as a qualifier for the Free State Championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event started and finished at the Welkom Technical High School in Volks Road. Athletes also had the option of competing in the 5 km, 10 km or 21 km race. Runners from across the country converged in Welkom to tackle this course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
