A young Welkom philanthropist and entrepreneur, Mpho Botha (21), sadly passed away on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Botha\u2019s mother, Elisa Mokodutlo, says her son was in an insulin induced coma since April. At first he was hospitalised in Johannesburg in the Tembisa Hospital\u2019s intensive care unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mokodutlo had her son transferred to the Bongani Hospital in Welkom on 15 April where died on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Botha was the founder of The Mpho Carl Botha Diabetic Foundation, and often provided under privileged scholars with Accu-Check devices (sugar level monitors), and sanitary products for school girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Botha was the director and founder of various top South African beauty pageants, and the founder of the United Nations Pageant SA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was a founder of the SA Top 100 ambassadors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Botha matriculated from Welkom-Gimnasium in 2018, where he was deputy headboy. In his matric year he was crowned as Mr Teen World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was a member of the Matjhabeng Junior Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the past four years he has represented South Africa at the mini united nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since matriculating, Botha was a top South African model, and more recently he was recognised as a top realtor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of 2021 he was recognised as the youngest millionaire in South Africa when he sold an R18 million property in Sandton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year Botha wrote on Facebook: \u201cSometimes you won\u2019t even know how, but if you have the desire to win, backed by action and resilience, the universe will align everything to work in your favour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Botha was an only child and leaves his mother, stepfather, John Ntamo and aunt, Pulane Theyise behind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
