This weekend the Phakisa Motocross Club will be hosting round four of the MSA Free State Regional Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday (23\/07), a first for South African motocross will be taking place right here in the Goldfields in the form of an electrical holeshot competition with big prizes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In motocross, you will often hear how important the holeshot is. Some motocross experts say that getting the holeshot is the biggest key when it comes to winning the race. Others even go further to say that with the holeshot, you have a 90% chance of winning the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The holeshot is a term used to describe or reference the first racer to get through the apex of the first turn. Getting the holeshot gives the rider a huge competitive advantage and some level of control in the race. In most cases, the rider who gets the holeshot also wins the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The gates drop at 08:00 and riders from all over are expected to come and compete. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first time since Covid-19 broke out, spectators are welcome to attend. Tickets cost R50 and children under 12 enter for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome and support our local riders battling it out against the country\u2019s best riders. The track is well prepared and there is ample food being prepared by The Rotary Club from Odendaalsrus,\u201d says Chrystelle Erasmus, representing the Phakisa Motocross Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
