A 26-year-old man who <\/span>handed himself over at<\/span>to Orkney police for allegedly strangling his girlfriend after an argument. He then proceeded to hide her body under a bed in the Thandanani section of Thabong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police, says that on 26 October at about 09:00 the Thabong police station was informed by Orkney police that they had a man who had confessed to murdering his girlfriend in Thabong on 20 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Thabong police then sent a vehicle to the address. They found the naked body of an African female under the bed. Her chest was covered with a bandana and she was wrapped in a white duvet. The deceased had a swollen eye and had strangulation marks on her neck,\u201d says Thakeng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the scene, an African man introduced himself as Zakhele Gonyongo, the brother of the deceased who was later identified as Ntombizodwa Mariam Gonyongo (27).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect was detained for murder, and kept at the Orkney police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe same boyfriend has just been released on bail for rape that was allegedly committed during September 2022,\u201d says Thakeng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
