The Welkom police are looking for the driver of a car who hit and killed a road construction worker on the Bronville Virginia road on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The construction worker was busy placing road signs when the car struck him. The motorist sped away from the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At about 03:40 on the R730 at Bronville workers were busy placing road signs when the incident happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bronville police were called to attend an accident scene and found a male face down in a pool of blood. \u201cAccording to a witness, he was hit by a vehicle and the driver sped away from the scene. The man died on the scene as a result of the injuries he had sustained. A case of culpable homicide was registered for further investigation,\u201d says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa SAPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Motorists are sternly warned to drive slowly on this road as it is under construction. Road signs are clearly visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deceased was later identified as Alizwa Mamzeli (22) residing in Extention 18 Bronville. His next of kin have been informed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
