The Welkom K9 unit seized the illegal drug Khat (Khat Edulis<\/span>) valued at R280 000 after searching a truck Molefe was driving on the N1 at Ventersburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\nCapt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police, says the Provincial Counter Narcotics unit received information about a white Scania truck with a GP registration number which contained the drug plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Const. Cobus van Wyk of the Welkom K9 unit and back up conducted a way-lay and the truck was pulled over near Ventersburg. They found 2 800 bundles of the Khat Edulis<\/span> wrapped in a newspaper and packed in boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMolefe was arrested for possession of Khat plant drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
