calls on community for help"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following the decision of the NSPCA board to not close the Welkom SPCA, the management committee remains committed to serving the community and the animals in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So says Zack Roussouw, chairman of the Welkom SPCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor our efforts to be successful we will require the full and continued support of the Welkom community,\u201d says Roussouw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Support can be shown through monetary donations, and donations of wet or dry dog and cat food, as well as pet blankets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donations of secondhand goods or books will be sold to generate funds to go towards the organisation\u2019s operational costs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further assistance includes adopting an animal and becoming a member of the SPCA and its committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those able to assist are requested to contact Roussouw on 082-879-8578 or Ian Lombard on
