Xolisile Goodness Motse\u00adtse, a Thabong police officer, is celebrating 12 years on the force. She describes her journey as inspiring and empowering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Motsetse was born and bred in Thabong and matriculated from the Welkom High School. She furthered her studies at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), where she obtained a diploma in Accounting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Growing up, Motsetse did not see herself as a policewoman, but believes fate destined her to be one. However, she became passionate about the role once within the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Motsetse worked in the crime prevention department for eight years before transferring to the finance department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She lists humour as one of her challenges at work, as some people underestimated her as to how she handles and reprimands perpetrators with her soft humour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Motsetse says her challenges have made her stronger, more confident, and stand her ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being a policewoman has been inspiring and empowering for Motsetse because, in most cases, vulnerable victims see her as their light of hope and children see her as their role model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGood work ethics played a major role in my career. I have to be professional and have the ability to control my emotions at work regardless of the situation at hand,\u201d says Motsetse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
