Members of the Rural Safety and Stock Theft group recovered 35 stolen livestock valued at R140 200, with two suspects arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 15 October the police received information about suspicious people chasing cattle near a farm. Upon arrival, two suspects were spotted and approached. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects alleged that they were taking the cattle to another farm, but could not provide a removal certificate or documentation to show where they bought the cattle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local farmers were called and one of them indentified the stock as his, and also confirmed to have opened a case of stock theft with Hennenman officials where eight of his cows were stolen from his kraal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock. Seven mixed breed cows and calves worth an estimated R70 000 were recovered and handed back to the lawful owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rural Safety members attended to another stock theft complaint at a farm where 27 Boerboks, valued at R70 200, were stolen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 13 October, members of the Stock Theft and Rural Safety units worked together, tracing the goats which were found hidden in the bushes. They only recovered 17 goats, ten are still missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
