The Rotary Club of Welkom Flamingo held a successful Eradicate Polio Campaign at the Goldfields Mall in Welkom on Saturday, 21 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was the second year that the club raised funds for this noble cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fundraiser took the form of donations received towards discharging \u201cpatients\u201d from a mock iron lung. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nSeveral prominet Welkomites and business people were roped in the lie in the \u201clung\u201d for half an hour while pledges were received on their behalf.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The group who dedicated their time to this honourable venture were: Francois Malan (Podbielski Attorneys), Sunette Jooste (Sunette Jooste Attorneys), Marti Will (Vista<\/em>), Jeanette Wessels (ex-Flamingo Rotarian), Jan Jacobs (Move 1 Million), lan Buchanan (President \u2013 Flamingo Rotary), Thato Moloi (Goldfields Sunset Rotary), Eddie Nakeli (Community Peace Corps Worker) and Devon Burger (Conversations Coffee Shop).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
