The Lumkamase Disable Multipurpose Centre gives care to the vulnerable people who need special care. People who default on medication, become sick or do not have someone to monitor them on a regular basis can be taken to the centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lukamase also gives shelter to the homeless, drug addicts who want to rehabilitate, and also people who suffer from mental health illnesses and feel like they or a family member need assistance in caring for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The centre was opened on 11 January at 56 Lindi Doorn, Welkom, when Magauta Segano, Seputswe Pitso, and Lucky Pitso, the centre\u2019s founders, wanted to assist the elderly and disabled who live on their own and cannot be cared for properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Altogether, there are 45 people at the center, with children from the age of eight years and upwards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the center there are home-based caregivers, health promotion officers, volunteers, chefs, and managers who all receive a stipend but also work with love, passion, and empathy. They work with Welkom Clinic in the event that one of the patients need medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
