Goudveld Multisport will host the 45th AEIC Mielie Marathon taking place on Saturday, 20 January, starting from the Welkom Technical High School (THS). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distances are 42,2 km, 21,1 km, 10 km, and a 5 km fun run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This historic marathon is the oldest in the Free State and is an official qualifier for the Two Oceans and Comrades marathons. The marathon is renowned for offering a flat and fast route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fastest time by a male runner in the 42 km is 2:18:23, by Joseph Molaba in 2015. Woman runner Yolande Maclean clocked 2:57:42 in 2006.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
