The Matjhabeng municipality intends to find entities to manage and lease out at least eight public sports facilities in Welkom, Riebeeckstad, Hennenman, and Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These facilities will include the Welkom Club, Rovers Club, Griffons Stadium, Harvinia Sports Grounds, Riebeeckstad Sports Complex, Odendaalsrus Tennis Courts, Hennenman Sports Complex, and the Hennenman Bowling Clubhouse and Courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Various sports such as rugby, cricket, netball, bowling, squash, tennis, football, and hockey are played at Rovers, with readily available apartments and chalets located there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Welkom club houses activities and space for bowling, a private gym, tennis academy, squash, rugby, the Lejweleputswa fitness club, pole dancing, a main bar, and a ladies\u2019 bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the Riebeeckstad sports complex there is provision made for a golf driving range, squash, bowling, and the Riebeeckstad pigeon club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the old traffic department there is a bar (Guppy\u2019s Pub) and the recreation hall. The Welkom swimming pool is the home of Welkom Multi-Sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The municipality has already received two individual offers for lease agreements for the Harvinia sports fields and the Riebeeckstad golf driving range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
