She used to serve as a junior city counsellor during her high school years which also taught her some of the things she knows about charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matang started Seeds of faith in 2016 which was officially registered in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seeds of faith is a non-profit organisation and it was inspired by Matang\u2019s love for helping young children and the vulnerable members in the society such as children, elderly, young women and victims of abuse and poverty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organisation works with four main factors which are feeding, educating, empowering and developing, however, the organisation\u2019s primary focus is encouraging education through plays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They work with children from babies to 12 years old, even though it\u2019s reach is not restrictive to them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They also seek to provide primary and basic needs, as well as the equipping of life skills for beneficiaries of the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organisation has held events such as Edu-Fun, Violets High Tea for the elderly and A Toy for Christmas. Last year they held their seventh annual A Toy for Christmas event, giving away more than 500 toys as well as goody bags to its beneficiaries. The drive was held in Phomolong, Hennenman where it is situated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organisation has reached out to more than 1 500 child beneficiaries and more than 500 elderly beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Growing up in Harmony, Virginia Matang used to visit children at the Emmanuel House. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She donated some of clothes without her mother\u2019s permission, but it was just something she felt she needed to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coming across the Montessori method of learning and how toys can help with educating young children and can act as a therapy method encouraged her to start the A Toy for Christmas initiative which is for distributing educational and therapeutic toys in the Phomolong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seeds of faith has assisted the community in different ways by lifting the burden of poverty and they are introducing the culture of reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
