A man who was wanted by police for a rape incident in 2023, was arrested in Welkom on Monday, 4 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the Welkom K9 commander was in a meeting, he received a distress call regarding a possible bank robbery at one of the malls in Welkom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officer reacted to the information and mobilised all necessary units. When the police arrived at the mall, they discovered that it was an argument between a couple in the bank, and a 30-year-old man was seen assaulting a 28-year-old woman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man was arrested for assault and taken to the Welkom Police Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigations revealed that the man had a warrant for his arrest for an alleged rape incident in January 2023 in Welkom. The suspect was arrested and detained for assault and rape.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
