Three well-known drug dealers were removed from the streets of Thabong, along with 23 sachets of the CAT drug and R382 cash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 21 March, members of Welkom Anti Gang unit were busy with crime combating duties in Section 300 of Thabong when they saw two suspicious looking men in the street. They stopped and requested to search them. A 23-year-old was arrested for possession of drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police then went to a house in Uxolo Street and a 36-year-old man was found in possession of four crystal meth sachets, one half and one-quarter Mandrax tablets, and R140 cash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members also visited a house in Molai Street, Thabong, where a 36-year-old man was found in possession of three-quarter and one-half Mandrax tablets, and R80 cash. The suspects will appear in court on 25 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 20 March, police members of the same unit were busy with crime-combating duties at Mannys in Welkom when they noticed a notorious drug dealer walking near a tavern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He attempted to flee. The police gave chase and found him trying to hide drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 36-year-old foreign national was arrested for possession of 17 crystal meth sachets, 11 Mandrax tablets, and five samples of the Rock drug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During further policing, the unit found a group of men busy injecting themselves with drugs. A 32-year-old man was found in possession of four Mandrax tablets, four one-quarter Mandrax tablets, and six syringes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both suspects will appear in the Welkom Magistrates\u2019 Court on 25 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 17 March, members of the Bronville Visible Policing unit investigated a shooting incident at a house in Extension 19, Bronville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They found a man with a gunshot wound in his thigh. He was lying in a pool of blood. He was identified as Mziwakhe Ntlaya (38).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They found two more gunshot victims further in the house. A second man had been shot through the right hand, and the third had been shot in the left side of his chest and left arm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two victims were taken to one of the hospitals in Matjhabeng: their cell phones had been robbed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first victim was certified dead at the scene. A case of murder, armed robbery, and two counts of attempted murder was registered for investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
