Tayla Wasmuth has shaken the athletics world by breaking record upon records so far this year in discus and shotput at the different meets from local through regional and provincial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tayla, a Gr. 12 learner at the Goudveld-Ho\u00ebrskool, started the season with house sport where she broke the house record for discus and was best field athlete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Sasolburg invitational meeting on 10 February she broke the shot put record, and then at the Sentraal Top 20 in Bloemfontein she broke the discus record to 48,31 m and was also placed first in shot put. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this meet Tayla was the top female field athlete of the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 22 February at the Lejweleputswa athletics meet Tayla broke the discus record to 48,87 m and was placed first in shot put.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 28 February at the Multi Green meet she again broke the discus record and was placed first place in the shot put.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Free State Schools on 8 March Tayla was placed first in discus, again with a record, and she also broke the shot put record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ASA South African meet at Pildith stadium in Pretoria on 21 and 22 March, Tayla received a silver medal, with a distance of 49,23 m for discus and she was placed 6th for shot put.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the South African Schools meet in Paarl from 1 to 3 April she received a silver medal for discus and a bronze for the shot put.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tayla was placed number 36 in the top 100 athletes of the meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was also selected for the senior ASA Free State team and will participate in Pietermaritzburg at the Senior South African meet on 18 April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is trained by Conradie Scheepers and Elizma Naude Pretorius. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
