awareness created"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Free State MEC for Health, Mathabo Leeto, visited the Bongani regional district to observe World Autism Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a touching ceremony, Leeto unveiled a plaque of remembrance of clinical and non-clinical staff members who passed on during Covid-19 at the Bongani Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The outreach also saw her observing Autism Awareness Day, that was held during her visit to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was a public awareness event to inform and educate the public about autism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Autism is a condition which can cause hyper activity in some children who will need special care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children born with autism need to access services such as speech therapy, occu\u00adpational and physiotherapy, psychology and social work services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are taught to do differentiate things they use on daily basis such as colours, texture and shapes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey are also equipped with vocational skills for future development,\u201d says Mondli Mvambi, spokesperson for Free State Health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Free State MEC
