ODENDAASRUS –<\/strong> The Odendaalsrus SAPS Social Crime Prevention, alongside other visible policing members and the Department of Correctional Services, remain committed to creating and maintaining safety at schools through their coordinated efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday 22 April the law enforcement agencies collaborated with the Department of Education and conducted a search at the Phehello Secondary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign was facilitated by the school safety officer. The school premises were thoroughly searched as well as approximately 1 123 learners were searched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign went beyond than just a school search. This was also used as an opportunity to address learners about several issues of concern.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Law enforcement addressed learners on substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence, bullying, gangsterism, dangerous weapons and assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officers confiscated small packets of dagga, e-cigarettes, a knife and snuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SAPS<\/a> works with stakeholders to create safer school environments for learners and educators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
