BLOEMFONTEIN \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor Gregory Nthatisi and his team welcomed representatives of Cricket South Africa (CSA) in Bloemfontein on Wednesday 11 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSA visited the city as it is earmarked to be one of the host cities for the upcoming 2027 Cricket World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nthatisi said the hosting of this big event would present an opportunity to promote people-to-people relations, enhance cultural diversity and drive economic development through a multitude of both social and business services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our hope is that this event will once more demonstrate the capacity of our city as a mecca of sports and showcase the hospitality of the people of Mangaung,” said Nthatisi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is therefore very important that this event is centred around the cricket-loving people of Mangaung and all its residents, who will be welcoming local and international cricket fans into their metro.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nthatisi said the metro was proud that the Mangaung Oval stadium is internationally accredited and able to host major tournaments of this magnitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
