The court heard how the victim was constantly sexually violated by the accused during the period from January 2022 until August 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-victim-was-17-years-old\">Victim was 17 years old<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim, who was aged 17 at the time, relocated to stay with her father in January 2022. Two days after her arrival at her father&#8217;s house, the victim slept in the lounge whilst her father slept in the bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This arrangement changed after the accused told the victim that they could share the bed. The court heard how the accused undressed and raped the victim on several occasions. Through her dedication alongside prosecutor Baloyi, the accused was found guilty of rape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-life-imprisonment-for-father-rapist\">Life imprisonment for father rapist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Magistrate Mzana sentenced the 55-year-old man to life imprisonment on Friday, 5 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This case highlights the importance of reporting sexual abuse and demonstrates that the justice system will hold perpetrators accountable, regardless of their relationship to the victim.
