Two full-feature films created by international film company Redeemer Pictures will be screening at Alpha Cinema in Welkom, starting this weekend.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based in Welkom, Redeemer Pictures is the brainchild of Skeelo Khumalo, an established cinematographer who states: “I create films to awaken humanity.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alpha Cinema has secured exclusive rights to screen Khumalo’s two films: Axiomatic Truth (2023), an award winner at international film festivals, and Repercussions (2024), which will receive its premiere screening.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both films were shot in Welkom and surrounding areas, with cast, extras, and crew sourced locally. Cinema-goers will have the pleasure of recognising familiar shops, venues, and landmarks throughout the productions. Khumalo notes that only 55 tickets are available per screening on a first-come, first-served basis.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bold story-telling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Redeemer Pictures is a visionary film and television production company rooted in Welkom. Founded in 2020, it operates as more than a production house. “We are storytellers of the soul, architects of change, and torchbearers of African narratives for a global stage,” Khumalo states.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, Khumalo unveiled his debut feature film, Axiomatic Truth, a bold and emotionally resonant drama exploring the psychological landscapes of truth, trauma, and resilience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early 2025, the company completed principal photography on their second feature film, Repercussions, a 94-minute romantic drama grounded in social realism. The film continues the tradition of crafting deeply human stories that challenge conventions and awaken empathy.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khumalo, affectionately known as Mr K, serves as the creative helm of Redeemer Pictures.
