A full audit and investigation into the long-delayed Rheederspark Clinic project is being demanded.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 22 years the residents of Ward 34 have waited for the long-promised healthcare facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As councillor for Ward 34 in the Matjhabeng Local Municipality, Werner Janse van Rensburg says he is deeply concerned and disappointed about the continued delays and possible irregularities surrounding the long-promised clinic. This project was first initiated in 2002, yet more than two decades later the people of Rheederspark are still without access to a proper healthcare facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, various commitments, site visits, and public assurances have been made; however, the reality on the ground remains unchanged: a vacant site and an unfulfilled promise. Residents have suffered the consequences of this neglect for far too long. Many must still travel to Welkom and Thabong for even the most basic medical services, placing a financial strain on families and creating dangerous delays for those with urgent health needs.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The elderly, pregnant women, children, and chronically ill patients are the most affected, as they struggle to obtain the medical attention that should have been available locally many years ago. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is unacceptable that public funds may have been allocated and possibly spent without any tangible results for the community. This raises serious questions about transparency, project management, and accountability at both the municipal and provincial levels,” says Janse van Rensburg.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The councillor and his ward’s constituents are demanding an audit and investigation into all funds allocated to the Rheederspark Clinic project since its inception.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The municipality must publicly disclose all companies and contractors involved in the project, as well as their progress and payment records. There must also be an immediate project resumption plan, with a clear timeline and budget, to ensure that the clinic is finally completed and operational within the shortest possible time. We demand regular public progress updates so that residents are no longer kept in the dark about a project that directly affects their lives and well-being. The community’s patience exhausted,” says Janse van Rensburg.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
